Mindset

If you knew how powerful your thoughts were, you’d never think a negative thought again.

I know firsthand how powerful mindset can be. Our minds have the ability to control our entire lives; however, it's important to keep in mind that we have the ability to control our thoughts. It’s scary what can happen when our thoughts come from a place of shame, guilt, and the belief that we are not enough.

I am a driven person. When I put my mind to something, I fight tooth and nail to see it come to fruition. The only problem is that I haven't always been mindful of what I was filling my mind with. Recognizing our thoughts allows you to really see truth and be completely present within the moment. If you're seeking advice... try to see each thought for what it really is, and then try to recognize what is truthful, honest, and real.

This is still something I work on daily. I get to choose every day what I want to focus on. Just one negative thought is one too many. A couple years ago, when I knew I needed to a make a change, I went to the only place I knew that could help to shine truth into my life. Gods word.

Whatever you might think defines you truly has no power over you.

  • When a person leaves you or disappoints you and you feel abandoned or unwanted --- 1 Peter 2:9 reminds you that Christians are “a chosen people.” God wants you!
  • When you feel unloved --- Jeremiah 31:3 says, “I have loved you with an everlasting love” God loves you!
  • When you don’t feel special --- Ephesians 2:10 reminds us that  “we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works.” God designed you!
  • When you feel like you’ve messed up --- James 4:8 know that God will always cleanse you. God restores you!

Work on setting a positive vision for your life daily. What does that look like? What does that vision look like to others on the outside looking in? There will always be roadblocks, but you control the way you interpret and respond to every situation life throws at you. l promise that if you look hard enough you will find a positive thread that is worth following. Just start small, shifting your every day focus towards love, gratitude, and compassion. Whats going to happen is going to happen. Do what you can to learn from the adversity that surrounds you, find the gratitude in it all, and use it for the good.

Faith is not the belief that things will work out the way we want them to. Instead, faith is simply the belief that God has our back, he will keep us close, and he wont abandon us no matter how things turn out. You make up your mind about what you are going to believe. Complaining only trains your brain to focus on the faults. Complaining focusses on the negative, not on the positive. The negative makes you miserable. Be positive, change your mindset, change your life. Turn to Gods word when you feel your mind shifting to negativity. Learn to listen to Him when you feel negativity and darkness creep in. You are always one decision away from a different life.

Keep shining your light!
