ENternal GPS

Joy is a good felling in the soul, produced by the Holy Spirit, and it causes us to see the beauty of Christ in the word and in the world.

There are two questions that I like to ask myself every night. "Where could I have been more loving today?" and "Could I have shown love somewhere today, and didn’t?" These questions ultimately help me to identify areas of joy... both in my life and in others.

I like to look at joy as my enteral GPS, something that I feel from the inside out. If I am on the right course I experience joy. It happens naturally when I'm on this path. Joy brings gratitude. If I am on the wrong course, I will often experience frustration, anger and even bitterness.

With every  decision that we are faced with there is a choice. Will we move towards love or will we move towards fear or aggression? Are you experiencing love, joy, and excitement? If not, chances are you need to double check your Joy GPS and see if you’re going in the wrong direction.

I love to always refer to the ‘fruits’  of the Holy Spirit which are; Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self Control (Galatians 5:22-23). Having those to refer to help guide my perspective, my decision making, and whether I’m heading in the direction of joy, love, and obedience.

So I ask you this... where could you have been more loving today? What have you done today that moved you towards love or towards aggression? Are you experiencing the Joy in your life that God created for us all to experience?

Shine that light, friends. Choose love. Choose Joy.
